Girellery

With no natural enemies to speak of, Girellery roam unfettered across the fertile plains of Jeem. Travelling in herds of 50 or more, they seek out Jeems fabled floating pools (known as "flools") which supply 100 percent of their strictly liquid diet.

As is obvious from their awkward appearance, Girellery are half giraffe and half celery. This seemingly odd biological mixture suits Girellery quite well in Jeem's windy environment where height is needed as flools can often reach an altitude of 30 feet or more.

Considered mythological beasts, Girellery enjoy a religious status among Jeems more spiritual inhabitants. As homage to the Girellery's peaceful nature, the Jeemians rejoice every summer solstice by donning false celery noses and leaping skywards as if pining for the refreshing bounty of a passing flool.
